New Postage Rate Information
Invitations4sale.com would like to make you aware that
when the rates went up in May 2007 at the United States Post Office
(from 39˘ to 41˘),
a bigger change took place that NO ONE is bothering to mention....
the base rate for larger invitations (over 6 1/8" height)
came into effect,
meaning that the vertical envelopes and 7"-8" square now take a
minimum base rate of 80˘ instead of the 41˘. This really can
add up for our Savvy Clients. We want you to know and be fully
aware of this change before you go shopping. Make SURE that you
add this new cost into your wedding budgets.
Shape-Based Pricing
Information from the United States Postal Service:
We're introducing new pricing for First-Class Mail® using
shape along with weight to determine prices.
This pricing recognizes that different shapes”letters,
large envelopes (flats), and packages (parcels)
”have different processing costs and each shape will now have
separate pricing.

Postcards:

(flat).

If your large envelope exceeds these dimensions,
it will be classified and priced as a package (parcel).
Large envelopes must also be flexible, rectangular,
and uniformly thick. A large envelope that exceeds 13 ounces
is classified and priced as Priority Mail®.
