Who are you?
Read our about us page. Linda's company was
presented with Carlson Craft's highest honour-
The Distinguished
Dealer Award for 2000, 2001, 2005, 2006 & 2007!
Linda is also the recipient
of The Star Dealer Award in 2001!
(In 2003 and 2004, Linda's company
was not doing much business due to the illness and eventual death of
her beloved brother, Jim.)
Another focus of Linda's remains
Charity Awareness. Linda and
Invitations4sale.com are regular contributors to many
wonderful causes.
Please feel free to check out our
Charity List for an up-to-date listing of charities
that your purchases have funded in the past and this year.
How can we contact you?
You can always email us, or contact us by telephone.
Our telephone # is (708) 203-4449, or
leave a message on our voice mail at that same #. We are on CT.
Email is our preferred method of contact.
How do you do offer such huge discounts?
It's easy! Many years of hardwork and
learning how to keep our overhead to a minimum.
We are still learning cost-effective ways and plan
to keep doing so. That means we can pass the savings along
to you, our customer! All without compromising our service
or attention to detail!
Plus, a portion of proceeds go to Linda's favorite
charities. Take a peek!
Can we get an e-quote for invitations or other products without
any obligation?
To get a full quote on your order, simply
begin the order placement procedure, and cancel out of the screen
once you get your shipping totals, too. Very simple, and much
more economical. If you accidentally send your order thru to us,
simply email us and we can cancel it for you. (Sorry,
wedding and/or event related businesses will NOT receive any
discounts from our company. Although we respect your business,
we offer a large discount to HELP brides,
not so that planners, and other third parties can cash in our
discount & expertise, and then sell at a higher price.)
So, how does this discount program work, exactly?
It's really not complicated, at all.
Most wedding invitation orders placed online will receive
a full 40% off, and 30% off accessory items.
However, on February 8, 2008, Carlson Craft, and its partners,
no longer allow us (or anyone else) to discount the
following: Paper Duvet,
Disney, Precious Moments, Royal Doulton, Chloe B, Eduardo XOL
or Jean M. If we a missing any, let us know. Sorry, we truly are.
What items are available with the invitation to purchase?
You can choose from many items.
Here is a list of our most popular 40% off items online:
- The invitations
- Lined inner envelopes (when available)
- Return address on the invitation envelope flap
- Reception cards (no envelopes come with this)
- Response card set (comes with pre-addressed envelope)
- Informal or thank you notes
- Return address on the flap of the thank you note envelope
What forms of payments do you accept
We accept credit card payments via PayPal only.
We accept PAYPAL cash payments, VISA, M/C, DISCOVER and
AMERICAN EXPRESS payments. We will also accept personal checks, but
these is a 7 day hold on your order once the check is received.
What is PayPal?
Paypal is an online sight (owned by Ebay) so that you can
make instant purchases.
Invitations4sale.com is in
no way responsible for
any problems associated with PayPal. We must pay for the
service for each payment that we receive.
PayPal service has been implemented merely as
a convenience for our customers that should choose to pay by
credit card. You can find out more about their service by
visiting www.paypal.com
Do you ever share our e-mail or
personal information with
others? NEVER! (That's our short-answer.)
Of course, keep in mind,
when you sign
our guestbook
(or anyone else's, for that matter),
inputting your e-mail address allows it to become available to
all who view the book. This can be useful if you are a future
customer and want to check with a past customer for references.
(That's our long answer.)
How do we see the products?
Do you have them online?
We have chosen to put a limited number of
products online.
We really believe and encourage
everyone of our customers to view the product in-person.
Our belief is that you should know exactly what you order
before you order. There are so many different
papers to choose from. The internet viewing can actually skew
the colors, and we cannot be held responsible for any
differences that you might have encounter, if you are simply
"online viewing". In this case, the old-fashioned way is still
the best. We offer up to four (4) free invitation samples per vendor,
(free to USA addresses, only) and
sorry, we cannot send out more than one of a single choice.
(We do not mail catalogs, that would cause us
to have to raise our prices.)
If you have ANY questions about the paper stock,
ink color or liner color, ask first.
See our
samples page for how to order and information.
Is bright white the same as just white? What's the difference?
Colors of paper:
Keep in mind that there are different basic colors.
-
Bright white, you may also call it Stark White
- Soft White or white, which is traditional Bridal
White, but is in no way stark.
It is not ecru, either.
- Ecru is
an even MORE off shade of white. More in a yellowish tone
If the color of the paper is
not clearly stated, please email us the item #. Do NOT trust
the colors thru your computer monitor, as doing so can be highly
deceiving.
Get samples and ask questions to verify color, this is
really important.
We want you to be happy with your order, not
surprised because your invitation paper is not the color that
you expected, so, please, order the samples! But, as a side note:
if you do not take advantage of our sample program (free or paid) and
you order your invitations without first seeing the product in-person,
any paper color issues, or paper-quality issues will not be
taken into consideration should you not like your choice after
you have ordered it. We offer you chances to see the papers
before you buy. If you buy before you see in-person
and end up unhappy with
your choice, there will be nothing we will do. This needs to be
stated. Order samples if you have not seen the paper in-person.
How do we order?
Easy! Go directly to the online catalog and you can
place your online order there! If there is anything
that you cannot figure out, then don't worry,
we can try to add it for you from our offices.
Proofs will be added to all orders, and if you need extra inner
or outer envelopes, just email us. Tell us how many, and if
the additionals are to be printed outers or plain.
And if the inners (when available) are to be lined or unlined.
How many invitations should I order?
COUNT ADDRESSES, not heads,
then increase that number by 25 (minimum)
to your order.
Then round UP to the nearest 25, do NOT round down.
We cannot stress adding on the extra 25 enough.
It is far better to have too many, than not enough.
To re-order, at a later date, is costly. You
start off at the minimum order of 25 pricing,
as a brand new order. It is far less
expensive to order the extras with this original order,
then to have to order an extra 25 later on.
Do the math when you are placing
your order, and figure out what it costs to jump up from your
current order number to the next 25 increment. Compare this
number with the starting cost of 25 invitations and extras.
OUCH! Big price difference This is one of the most costly
errors that brides make when ordering their wedding invitations.
And if happens a lot, too!! :o)
How long
will it take to receive the order?
That's a tough one to answer.
A typical order is in production anywhere from 1-5
business days,
however each order is unique, and we treat it as that, so those
numbers are to be considered a general guideline.
The in-house production of the order really depends on
several factors, including if there are any proofs, special
languages, engraving and/or questions on the order, or
if we have trouble reaching you via email. (Other
things may delay an order, but it truly
is on an individual basis.)
We will place the order
within a short time of confirmed payment receipt
via our required software.
Delivery also can vary, unless you should choose a guaranteed
rate. Orders usually ship via UPS. Locations of printers:
Birchcraft: east coast
McPherson: midwest
Carlson Craft: midwest
What are the shipping charges?
Shipping charges are listed at the end of the order submission.
If you want to know shipping charges, we will defer you to
our online ordering process.
We ask that you place an order, and at the end
you will receive a full total, with shipping. To delete the
inquiry order, simply close out of the session. Or go ahead and place
the order, you can cancel this
order at anytime, up until the order has been paid for.
Orders submit for production only after paid for in full.
Orders place automatically delete from our system
if not paid for within one week of placing the order.
Can I cancel the order at anytime?
The order can be cancelled up until the time you pay for it
, only.
Once
we receive payment (via PayPal or via check) your order
cannot be cancelled or changed.
No exceptions regarding the cancellations or changes.
Once you submit the order, that is NOT the same as paying for
the order. When you visit our payment center at
www.invitations4sale.com/PayPal.html
and make payment from there, or, again, if we have received
your payment check via mail,
then the order will continue, and it is at that point
that the order cannot be changed or cancelled.
Email us if you have questions, of course.
The following are the only things we will allow for changes
once payment has been made:
wording
ink color
font
Add'l costs, for supplement proofs showing your changes,
may occur.
Are
proofs available and what should I expect?
Yes, proofs are mandatory on ALL orders
for all stationery items ordered,
and are only $5 per each item for Carlson Craft and Birchcraft,
and only $6 per proof for McPhersons. This process, however, does slow your
order processing down from anywhere between 1-5 days, in general.
So, remember to allow for the extra proofing time when ordering your
invitations.
Proofs are usually sent via email. Please make sure
that you provide us with all email account addresses
that you use.
We have have problems in the past with
Hotmail and Yahoo! accounts accepting our emails,
so make sure to remember to check your junk mail, too.
Proofs are on plain, white paper printed in black.
From the proofs you will be able to determine that your order
is spelled out to your specifications, that you like your
lettering and that everything is legible. You will also be
able to see, in advance of printing, the layout, and lettering
size that will be used. Without a proof, you will have no
control if you want an order typeset a certain way.
Some of our clients have definite
ideas on how they expect to see something laid out. We do our
best to accommodate whenever possible.
We give you all of the upfront information because we
want you to be an informed consumer. We respect our clients and
realize how expensive wedding costs are.
Getting upfront information
and knowing the rules at the beginning, can save you money and
headaches later on.
REAL, MAILED PROOFS are available from Birchcraft, only, $15 per
item. This form of proofing will add about 7-10 days to
the ordering process. So, if you are experiencing doubt in your
ink choice, then Birchcraft may be the way to go, and ordering a
real press proof may really pay off!
What's the best way to select a lettering style?
Process of elimination works the very best way!
- First look at the numbers in the styles. If you
cannot read them and you will be using those exact
numbers, avoid them completely.
- Next look at the capital
letters in your names. Do you like the way that they look?
If no, then eliminate those.
- Then continue with the rest of
the capital letters that you will be using and then look at
things like, how will they hang on the line.
- Do they drop below the line?
- If traditional lettering is available, we recommend skipping
it altogether. These are set at one size and cannot be smaller
or larger. Photolettering is usually your best choice,
as the lettering sizes can be made to actually fit the invitation.
- Don't forget to JUMBO the Bride and Groom's names on the invitation
so that they stand out (unless you are using a combination lettering, then
never mind).
If you cannot figure out how to jumbo online,
just place the order, and send us an email, we can ask for it.
Will the printing be
raised or flat? Imprint is almost always raised
thermography. This is the copy-cat, and more economical printing
vs. engraved.
Engraved invitations can be determined if there is
an actual impression on the reverse side of the paper.
It actually pushes the paper up, giving it the raised appearance.
Thermography, which accounts for what you will typically
see nowadays, is produced to look like engraved, but no
impressions in the back.
In certain circumstances, if the invitation is unique, the
imprint my even be a flat imprint,
please ask if you are concerned
that your invitation (er envelope) might have flat printing.
Envelopes are mostly flat printed.
If you are unsure what method,
flat, thermography or engraved is being used on your invitation,
please ask BEFORE you buy. Honestly, and upfront,
we cannot help you out if you get the order printed, and then
don't like them, because the imprint was not what you thought.
You must ASK questions first, always, no matter who you buy from.
Are there any ink colors
that work better than others? Anything to be
watchful for?
Most of the invitations look fine in standard black, but that is
a taste preference, and some people want matching or coordinating
ink colors to their weddings. We understand. Try to avoid
silver and/or gold inks when possible. Their shiny properties
can make them difficult to read. Couple this with scripty
lettering and you may not like your outcome. Some people still
do like it, so again, it's a matter of preference.
Lighter inks like peach or pink do not lend themselves well to
scripty or small print, either.
If you decide to go with a lighter or shiny ink, then try to
choose a font that is easy to read, like a manuscript font.
Ultimately it's your choice.
You can get a press proof if ordering from Birchcraft, only,
if you are in doubt about the ink color with the font.
But make sure that you have the timeframe to allow for this
extra service, too.
Do the response card envelopes
come pre-addressed so that the guests can mail
their replies?
Yes, the envelopes come pre-addressed, available in flat imprint, only,
so that all your guests need to do is fill out the response
card and mail it back to you. (Of course, don't forget to stamp
the response envelopes when you send out the invitations!)
Are you going to send the actual products as
shown in the albums viewed? Or do you send imitations or
knock-offs?
We are an ordering company. We order directly from the
manufacturer.
So, your local party, tuxedo and/or floral shops
(or wherever you saw the items) would order for you
the exact same as Invitations4sale.com
will for you, with
one exception, we have specialized
in social stationery since 1988.
How will the order arrive?
We ship all product via trackable shipping.
(Almost always via UPS.)
If you need your items faster, Next-Day Air is
usually available
and so is 2-Day service. (Shippers may vary in these
circumstances.) Please make sure that the location for
drop-off is a safe and secured location. Neither Carlson Craft,
the delivery company or
Invitations4sale.com,
will be held responsible
if the package is stolen or damaged while at the location you chose
for it to be dropped of at. (Sorry, we need this to be up-front.)
ATTENTION TO CLIENTS SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF THE US: NEITHER
INVIATIONS4SALE.COM, NOR THE PRINTER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING FEES
OR ANY OTHER FEES ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR COUNTRY'S "BORDER-CROSSING RULES."
ALL ORDERS ARE CLAIMED TO UPS BY THE PRINTER AT FULL RETAIL VALUE.
What if there is an error in my product? First, when
your package arrives, please count and review all items for
accuracy. Assemble an invitation and then stuff the envelopes.
Make sure that you have everything that you will need when the order
arrives. If you should find an error, you must report it
via email (only) within 48 hours of package receipt. Do not
call with any problems, it must be thru email, only.
No exceptions. Please state specifically the error.
No refunds can be given once the order is paid for.
These are custom orders, and absolutely no refunds
or decreases in quantities can be made after you have paid for
the order.
If the error is our fault or the printer's,
it will be corrected- at no charge to you-
in a quick & friendly manner.
If the error is on your part, sorry, but
re-orders are at retail prices less the discount.
So, in other
words, you start from scratch. Remember to
re-check your order several, several times prior to submission.
Please be aware that because some of the invitations
are handmade papers, the invitation papers in your order may not match exactly
as shown in the album. This is considered normal, as it is
impossible to match the handmade and custom papers exactly
as you see in the album.
Unless a printing error,
these will not be corrected
and are considered a character of the product's uniqueness.
Additionally, since we do offer up to four (4)
free samples per vendor, and
since you can purchase proofs of your order, refunds are not given
should you receive your order and find out that
you do not like the color of the paper, paper quality, liners
or the lettering/ink you chose, etc.
Sorry, we offer free samples.
If you did not take advantage of our samples first,
before you buy, and then find out you do not like the paper
color, this is NOT considered an error on our part,
or the fault of the printer. Same scenario for your ink color,
lettering and if you receive invitations in flat ink, as opposed
to raised. Please ask. We do what our part (and more) to help
you save money, that was our reason for starting this business
20 yrs ago. We still stand true to our reasoning, besides the
fact that we also give to charities.
I received my order, but there are errors by the printer,
and I need them by this weekend.
As long as they are correctable errors,
or the company printed from the wrong proof that you approved
(and it can happen) they will be corrected as soon as
they possibly can.
What we do not guarantee (ever) is that your order will arrive
correctly the first time.
Although this is the norm,
for your order to arrive
without any problems or issues, no one can guarantee this.
Human-error can still come into play. But we will do our finest
to see to it that it does not happen.
Your order will be corrected to the proofs
as you had approved last for each item. We will NOT, under any
circumstances, give refunds, or give ANY proof refunds, period.
We have been unfairly rated on TheKnot.com by some brides,
in the past, who had errors and try to use this vehicle
to get their orders for free. When we refused, they told us
they would share their terrible story on the internet.
All we can say, is that is unfair to us.
We tell you at the beginning, give out free samples,
and it is up to YOU to take advantage of it. We answer all
emails promptly, and with the respect they deserve.
We do not recommend waiting until last minute to do
ANYTHING regarding your wedding. Things go wrong.
No matter what, "Murphy's Law" will still find you.
If you order late, you run the chance of delays
with anything you do.
DON'T ORDER LATE!!
We are not here to take advantage, but see to
it that you are NOT taken advantage by offering you awesome
service and awesome pricing. Sorry, we need to state this.
All found errors will be corrected to your last approved proof.
(Happy to help, that's one of our mottos here.)
We are a fair, kind, ethical and honest company.
We are a bride's true friend!
